  • With the Science stream (PCB) in the 12th standard one is eligible to pursue MBBS after passing the entrance exam conducted by MCI.
  • A number of private and public sector colleges provide the course and conduct various common and individual entrance tests. It is however preferable to join government colleges due to their better reputation and lower fees structure.
  • BDS is a five year program with the fifth year as a mandatory Internship Period. Once you are done with a 5 year program, you are registered with the Dental Council of India to practice dentistry in private and government sector.
  • Candidates can appear for the entrance exam after 10+2.
  • There are mainly two entrance exams for admission to BDS degree in all the medical colleges on India.
  • Medical seat of all the medical college shall be filled by the score of NEET examination.
  • It is organized for providing admission in MBBS/BDS courses offered by all government and private colleges in India.
If you consider government colleges in India and you are lucky to get into them then the approximate fees is 25k per annum. Private colleges are comparatively expensive and charge 1.8 lac to 2 lac per annum.
The education in overseas universities is much higher than in India.
After attaining BDS Degree, one has several opportunities and options where one can find a job.

There is a huge demand of Dentists in Europe, Australia & US and one can find huge opportunities for progress in these countries.
A fresher in government colleges can earn upto 15k with benefits. However, private sector gives you between 20k -25k per month. A well experienced dentist can easily earn upto 1 lakhs per month.
The income of a dentist increases according to skills and experience.
